What is actually the difference between a terrazzo floor and a concrete block floor as we see it here in the video. You can say that a concrete block is a machine made terrazzo. The artificial stone is not cast or rolled on site like a terrazzo, but is pressed in the factory.
The first step in a terrazzo renovation is to create the new terrazzo surface to be added. This is done by mixing in the appropriate terrazzo grain size, colour and size. Natural stone materials in different grain sizes are used as terrazzo grain, such as Nero Ebano, Giallo Mori, Perlweis, Jurassic star and many more.

Then fill it into the terrazzo surface to be added and then roll it several times to compact it well. This is also known as rolled terrazzo. After about a week the terrazzo floor is hardened and can be sanded. This is done in a diamond wet grinding process, which gives the floor a plane cut.
